Rick Rankin is a respected gunsmith and hunter with experience in environments from Colorado to Kansas; Alabama to Africa.

His interest in firearms began when he was a boy in rural Pennsylvania and Kansas. Following college he apprenticed with master gunsmiths Tom Kinkaid and Jim Wilson in Lawrence, Kansas. In 1969 he and his wife Jami visited friends in Pensacola and fell in love with it. In 1972 they purchased Lock and Gunsmith, which at that time, was a well-established business but without a “true” gunsmith.

Over the years Rick’s customers have been from all walks of life: military (of course, in Pensacola) and civilian firearms collectors, hunters and skarpshooters . He is well known for his knowledge and experience in ballistics, custom made rifles and barreling to meet specific requirements. Rick has experience hunting in environments from Kansas to Colorado to Africa and is is a board officer with Pensacola Rifle and Pistol Club.
